The CIC is looking for nominations for a volunteer position on the Board of Directors:
- Vice Chair
This position is a one-year term, after which the Vice Chair will typically become the Chair of the Board for an additional year and the Past Chair for another, for a possible total of a three-year commitment. The term begins following confirmation by the Membership at the CIC Annual General Meeting (typically in June).
We are seeking a dynamic person who has previous experience with the CIC, CSC and/or CSChE and is interested in contributing to the growth of this organization. Candidates should have sufficient time and energy to devote to this position and be a leader for all chemical sciences in Canada. As the CIC is a national organization, French-English bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged.
The position will involve approximately six to ten virtual board meetings per year and an in-person meeting at the CIC AGM during the CSC Conference, in addition to the specific responsibilities of the Vice Chair role. Il s’agit d’un mandat d’un an, à l’issue duquel le/la vice président (e) devient généralement président(e) du conseil d’administration pour une année supplémentaire et président(e) sortant pour une autre année, soit un engagement total possible de trois ans. Le mandat débute après confirmation par les membres lors de l’assemblée générale annuelle de l’ICC (généralement en juin).
Nous recherchons une personne dynamique qui a déjà eu une expérience avec l’ICC ou la SCC et/ou la SCGCh et qui souhaite contribuer à la croissance de cette organisation. Les candidats (es) doivent avoir suffisamment de temps et d’énergie à consacrer à ce poste et être un leader pour toutes les sciences chimiques au Canada. L’ICC étant une organisation nationale, les candidats (es) bilingues français-anglais sont fortement encouragés.
Le poste comprendra environ six à dix réunions virtuelles du conseil d’administration par an et une réunion en personne et l’AGA de l’ICC pendant la conférence de la SCC, en plus des responsabilités spécifiques du rôle de vice-président (e).
