Government of Canada launches review of federal support for fundamental science

On June 13, 2016 the Government of Canada launched a review of federal funding for fundamental science. The review is being led by an independent panel of research leaders and innovators chaired by Dr. David Naylor, former president of the University of Toronto. 

The panel will spend the next six months seeking input from the Canadian research community through both formal and online consultations. The CIC encourages all members to contribute to the online consultation by September 30, and to participate in any public or post secondary consultations taking place in your regionIn order to achieve optimal support for fundamental science research, it is crucial that all our voices be heard during this consultation period.
