The Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC) is a national not-for-profit organization committed to advancing the chemical sciences and engineering through its three constituent societies: Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC), Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE), and Canadian Society for Chemical Technology (CSCT). The CIC is the recognized leader for those in the chemical sciences and chemical engineering profession.  

The Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC) invites applications for a five (5) year (renewable) appointment of Executive Director. Reporting to the CIC Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the Chemical Institute of Canada and its three constituent societies according to the strategic direction set by each of the societies Board of Directors. The Executive Director works in a collaborative relationship with the society Boards of Directors, CIC staff, members, supporters and volunteers.  For more detailed information on CIC activities, please consult our Web page at www.cheminst.ca.

The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or similar field, and have a minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience including a senior leadership role in a not-for-profit, government, or private sector organization related to the CIC mandate. We are looking for a goal driven and strategic leader who is able to lead change collaboratively with all stakeholders and is focused on value to the membership of the constituent societies. You have demonstrated outstanding skills in: communication (preferably in both English and French), relationship building within Canada and internationally, and focusing resources on strategic goals.
