Kevin J. Wilkinson is a full professor at the Université de Montréal. His research is aimed at gaining a molecular level understanding of contaminant bioavailability and mobility. The group is well known for their work in developing advanced analytical techniques to quantify contaminant exposure and speciation and for their measurements of the bioavailability of emerging contaminants using biouptake, biomarkers and classical molecular techniques. Wilkinson has over 150 publications including 2 books, over 8300 citations to his work and an h-index of 51 (Google Scholar). He is presently an Associate Editor of Environmental Chemistry (2010-) and is on several other editorial boards. Wilkinson has been elected to the executives of the Environmental Divisions of the Canadian Society of Chemistry and the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). In Montreal, he has established a world-class laboratory in the field of environmental analysis: Center for the Analysis and Characterization of Engineered Nanomaterials (CACEN), which has over 5 M$ worth of equipment including various inductively coupled mass spectrometers, confocal, darkfield and optical microscopes, analytical ultracentrifugation, light scattering and nanoparticle tracking analysis, among other instruments.
